    Native to Siberia, this deep rooted perennial herb is often found in vegetable gardens and is very long-lived. The leaf blade grows to 18" across on long, succulent acid-tasting stalks. Rhubarb can grow to 2 1/2' tall. Leaf stalks are edible and make great pies and jams. Powder made from the root is used as a purgative in herbal medicine.
